Time to catch up

It has been so long since I wrote on this blog. I have been busy keeping up with Gus's blog (our dog), remodeling the house, planning the wedding + Honeymoon, and working. Pretty much all of our wedding plans have been finalized, as well as the honeymoon in Italy. Looks as though we will be heading to Rome, Venice, Chianti, Florence, Pisa, then back to Rome. It will be so much fun!

House re-modeling has been fun, too. Our kitchen was very outdated, so I painted the walls to warm up the room and installed new linoleum flooring.

The picture here is the new floor (tile-like squares) going on over the outdated linoleum flooring that was already there. I was surprised when the guy at Lowes said I could install it right over the existing floor.

Here is the floor all finished. You can see the new wall color in the kitchen back by the sliding door. For those of you that don't know, the walls were yellow before. Pretty, but with the new floor (which has flecks of orange) the orange walls warm the whole room up and tie it together well.

wedding flowers

So...I think I have decided to do the flowers myself. This bouquet took me all of 5 mins to make. Obviously it is a rough draft and I would take my time on the actual wedding day. It was fun to make, and it will save us alot of money. The flowers for this bouquet cost me $12.00 at Stop and Shop. So basically, for the wedding I need 3 bridesmaid bouquets ($12.00 each), and my bouquet (probably around $20). I may enlist a florist for the boutineers (did I spell that right???) just because those may take more time. I am super excited to do these myself. I was unsure if I should, but this really took no time at all. Yipee!

1 year engagement anniversary

(the pictures are not clear. it is a beautiful ring in person)

My ring finally came in. It had to be special ordered and shipped from another store. It is the "past, present, future" ring that matches my engagement ring. I was going to get the half ct, but in the end decided on the full 1ct ring. It had so much sparkle! (not to mention it was on sale for a price I could not say no to.) Today will be a busy day. We are about to leave the house to have our engagement photos taken. Yes, a year late. To the day, to be exact. So on the way home, we will be picking out our christmas tree to decorate tonight. Last year on December 1st is when Will proposed under the christmas tree, so that is our new tradition. Every year, December 1st we get our tree and spend the day together!

Christmas decorations

I put up the outdoor christmas decorations yesterday. This is the first year I have lived in a house, not an apartment, since living on my own. It was wonderful to be able to decorate. We now have twinkle stars in the front windows, as well as white lights lining the rails of the front porch. It looks beautiful!

Wedding reception

Picture small, round tables with sage green tablecloths. Ivory candles in wraught-iron candle holders. lanterns hanging from trees. White twinkle lights around tree trunks. This is one area of the reception site, which is my parent's backyard. This picture was taken Memorial day weekend in 2007. We are getting married Memorial day weekend 2008, so it should look the same, in regards to blooming trees and stuff.
This is the area we are going to do the pictures. It is so beautiful. Very green and lush. It will be so pretty! I am excited! I hope it does not rain...

6 month countdown...

6 months left. Where does the time go? Wasn't it just Halloween, and now it is Thanksgiving?!?! Christmas stuff is already out in the stores. Time is flying. 6 months until "I do". We started out with 1 1/2 years to plan a small wedding with 50 guests (or less) and we are down to 6 months. We have not even registered for gifts yet. All the magazines say you are suppose to do it 6 1/2 months or earlier before the big day. I walked into Bed,Bath and Beyond just to see what they have. I was so overwhelmed I had to walk out of the store. I did not even know where to start. I thought that store had useful everyday things. Simple things. They now sell china. China, I say! Do people still use china? I would not know what to do with china. I need to go back when Will is free so it is not so intimidating.

Wedding plans

Our wedding is set for May 24,2008. 6 months to go! Our plans are almost all set. We have our photographer, caterer, reception site (Becca's parents house), church, favors, invitations, etc. We are missing a florist, but we still have time. I (Becca) got my wedding ring today. Well, I don't actually have it, it had to be ordered. It is on it's way, though. I have my dress. I always tease Will about wearing it around the house. He does not want to see what it looks like. I don't think it will bring bad luck if he sees it, but he does. All I have to say is it is BEAUTIFUL!!! I am excited to wear it. I picture myself like the "friends" episode where Monica and Pheobe are washing dishes and cleaning the house in their wedding dresses. It is too pretty to wear only once. I should wear it all the time!(he he he). Our honeymoon is to Italy. Rome, Venice, and Florence. I have never been to Italy, but Will has, so he is my tour guide. It should be great!
